I see so many travelers riding along lions on African safaris, swimming with sharks in the Maldives, and bathing with elephants in Thailand, but what if you can’t book a flight across the world just yet?
One of my favorite social media accounts to follow is The Real Tarzan from Instagram, aka @mikeholston. He educates 5.8 million people on the importance of animal conservation and takes us on a journey into their world each day. Like the many travelers I mentioned above, he too flies around the globe to hangout with his wild friends, but to my surprise he also visits havens located right here in the states like Miami and Myrtle Beach.
Inspired, I decided to compile a list of top wildlife sanctuaries in America just to show that although amazing, you do not need to wait for an exotic trip to see and support exotic animals.
Find your state or one nearest you and let me know in the comments if you plan to visit or have another to add!
